Highway Infrastructure
Wayne County is served by two highways, US
highway 64 and State highway 13. They intersect in the town of Waynesboro.
US 64 is in the process of becoming a four lane from Memphis to Interstate
24 near Chattanooga. About 85% of the route is complete or is currently
under construction. State highway 13 is a north south corridor from the
Alabama line near Florence to Interstate 40. It is approximately 50 miles
from Waynesboro to Interstate 40. |

Wayne County has one airport, Hassell Field, a general aviation facility
with a 4,600 runway. It is currently being upgraded and improved.

Waterways
River
access is available in the Shoals area of Alabama, approximately 30 miles
south of Wayne County, from the Tennessee River to the Gulf of Mexico
through the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway.
