Training and Workforce Development

The Tennessee Technology Centers at Hohenwald, just north of Wayne County in Lewis County, and at Crump in Hardin County, are two of twenty-six premier providers for workforce development to the citizens of Tennessee. They provide state-of-the-art technical training for workers to obtain technical skills and professional training necessary for advancement.  These institutions are training centers to serve both youth and adults from a broad geographic area by providing technical instruction and skills training in trade, technical, and other occupations.  The curriculum includes courses to prepare individuals for employment and to upgrade the skills and knowledge of persons who have already entered the labor force.  Both of these centers work closely with industry to develop special industry training programs to address the needs of existing and new industries.

Incumbent Worker Training
The state may enter into an agreement with an employer to provide training to workers whose skills must be upgraded in order to avert worker dislocation.  The state program may provide up to 100% of the training costs for this type of training.  click for TN Career Center, Waynesboro.
